Oh What Shall I do?!

As promised in my last blog here are the details of the big decision we have to make (in a nutshell):
There is a church in Little Rock, AR that wants Aaron as their Music Minister.
About 6 months ago our pastor friend, JD Courtney became pastor at Temple Baptist Church. JD is the pastor that Aaron worked with at Rivercrest in Allen, TX for several years...he is the pastor who brought Aaron to Dallas back in 2002. Anyway, he called Aaron and was talking to him about it and jokingly asked Aaron if he felt called to Little Rock. We didn't even think anything of it because the church had a music minister at the time. Well a few months ago we got another call from JD. He said their music minister just quit one day and never came back. JD asked Aaron to consider coming.

On Labor Day weekend we decided to go visit JD and check out the church. No one from the church (other than JD and the children's director) knew who we were or why we were there. This allowed Aaron and me to observe the church in its "natural habitat". We liked the church and JD asked Aaron to pray about coming in view of a call on Sept. 30th weekend. After much prayer, Aaron and I decided that we should go in view of a call...there are so many doors open.

That means is we are going to fly there Friday night, meet with a bunch of people on Saturday morning including the choir and praise team, rehearse the choir and praise team, lead the worship service on Sunday morning (as if Aaron were the music minister) and then the church will vote and decide if they want to call Aaron. After that point (if we are asked to come) Aaron would talk out the logistics with JD, we would either accept or decline the offer. God has a bunch of doors open right now and so we are moving forward, but continuing to pray that He would close any doors that are needing to be closed.

As of right now, we are gearing up for that weekend, which also happens to be our anniversary weekend! As things develop I will continue to keep you posted!

Please pray for us.

I will be praying for you guys! I would be sad to see you go, but very happy if that is where you need to be.

Karice and Aaron - I will be praying for you! I know that God has great things in store for you both. Whether this is part of the plan or not is between you and the Lord, and sometimes it's hard to know whether you're hearing God's voice or your own desires. But I know that if you confess your honest desire to know and do God's will, he will make sure to confirm things for you, in His own time. Have fun up there, and have a wonderful anniversary celebration, too! I can't wait to see what the Lord will do next!
